SquOnkGreetings.22:00
SquOnkperlDreamer: Long time no see22:23
SquOnkQuestion. I have a Page Layout /foo with an Asset Report /foo/bar in it.22:30
SquOnkSaid Asset Report is set to paginate.22:31
SquOnkThe Page Layout /foo has some other content. When I click on any of the pagination links, I end up in /foo/bar. Is there a way to remain in /foo *but* have the Asset Report paginate?22:31
+perlDreamerno22:31
+perlDreamerit's called asset focus22:32
+perlDreamerif you do something other than www_view on an asset (including pagination), then the asset itself handles that and you "lose" the page level view22:32
SquOnk:/22:34
SquOnkWhat if the rest of the content in /foo becomes hardcoded in /foo/bar style template.22:35
SquOnk?22:36
+perlDreamerif /foo/bar uses that style template, then it would "look like" you were still on foo22:42
+perlDreamerUsing javascript, you could make a funky ajax call to manually paginate the content22:42
+perlDreamerbut it wouldn't be easy22:43
+perlDreamerand it would likely be fragile, too22:43
SquOnkperlDreamer: That's what I figured...22:50
SquOnkperlDreamer: The use case is a main page for a multimedia collection page. They want to have a "main story" (manually placed Shortcut), a menu sporting the sections (Navigation, piece of cake), and a list of all available stories per topic (Asset Report, paginated).22:51
@preactionit wouldn't be difficult: ?func=ajaxInlineView;pn=222:52
-!- zylopfa [~zylopfa@0x555116f0.adsl.cybercity.dk] has quit [Quit: Leaving]22:55
@preactionin theory you could even do that in an iframe22:55
@preactionhmm... but ?func=ajaxInlineView wouldn't be sticky, so iframe wouldn't work22:56
@preactionso the asset report would need a blank style template of some kind22:56
SquOnkWhat's ajaxInlineView? That's the AJAX thing I have to code, right?22:56
@preactionno, it exists in WebGUI already22:57
SquOnkpreaction: Oh, really?22:57
SquOnkpreaction: Please tell me what to read.22:57
@preactionit's not documented anywhere22:57
SquOnkpreaction: Does it work in 7.9?22:57
-!- fokat [~lem@weston-69.65.87.205.myacc.net] has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]22:57
@preactionhttp://www.webgui.org/promote/inthenews?func=ajaxInlineView <- contrast the difference between the normal view22:57
@preactionit's existed for a long time, so yes22:58
SquOnkpreaction: Each pagination link on the Asset Report should have that appended?22:59
@preactionno. the pagination links will need to be javascript that uses ajax with ?func=ajaxInlineView to update the content22:59
@preactionif you just want them to remain links, an iframe with a blank style will work23:00
SquOnkpreaction: The Asset Report has to pull URLs, title and images from Articles, so a blank style will not work.23:05
@preactioni'm not sure how the two are related. i mean that the Asset Report inside the iframe should not have the site style template around it, because it's in an iframe23:06
@preactionthe asset report still has its own report template which displays the URLs, titles, and images from the Articles its reporting on23:07
-!- fokat [~lem@weston-69.65.87.205.myacc.net] has joined #webgui23:08
SquOnkpreaction: I see it now. I wonder if the designer/JS-programmer will be able to do so.23:09
@preactionyou don't need to ping me with every reply23:09
SquOnkI'm used to it, sorry if it bothers you.23:10
SquOnkpreaction: How would you define what ajaxInlineView does, in one sentence?23:23
@preactionit writes view() without the style template, which is www_view()23:24
SquOnkpreaction: Thanks23:25

elninooh. maybe I'm supposed to do this?  http://www.webgui.org/wiki/enabling-recaptcha00:39
elninothe captcha i'm looking at is on a dataform v7.9.3300:40
@preactionthey should be in /uploads/temp, but check the error log00:46
elninobut that's only if I configured recaptcha, right? or is recaptcha an alternative to what you use in webgui by default?00:46
@preactionrecaptcha is an alternative to the default00:51
@preactionmost would consider it a better solution00:51
elninooh.. good to know. Thanks preaction!00:51

+perlDreamerthis commit 1992f33de99ce9e961c465e301bf93d3a50151d6 broke mobile style processing on the edit page for the WikiPage01:08
@preactionthen so did a lot of other places01:10
@scrottieI need to set up a fake recaptcha-look-alike that only generates captchas that are olde tyme insults.01:10
+perlDreamerare you opposed to a getStyleTemplateId which is  return $self->session->style->useMobileStyle ? mobile : regular; ?01:12
@preactionno, that should work fine01:13

elninoso if I have a user expriationo set on a group, and they login before they expire. how so I make it so that they can "reup" their status? I'm not selling any subscriptions or anything. just want them to login once in a while.05:25
@scrottiesomeone on this channel was looking at auth login hooks a while back...05:26
elninooh so nothign in webgui.. the admin settings make it look like it will reup automatically, or can be configured to do such.05:27

SquOnkHow much karma can I get on my birthday? ;-)22:26
SquOnk'cause I need a bug fixed and all... He he he22:26
@scrottieif they ever give me access to that server, I'm going to set up a WebGUI Karma currency exchange and give myself a cut of all transactions.  which is to say that they are never going to give me access to that server.22:27
SquOnkLOL22:27
@scrottieif you're ever in Phoenix, I'll buy ya a beer.22:27
SquOnkThat can be arranged. Not gonna happen today, though.22:28
@scrottiethere was some micropayment service for buying people beers kicking around but I haven't heard a reference to it in a while and I forgot where it is...22:28
@scrottiethat should probably be wired in to karma as well22:28

@scrottienext step is to set something up to ping me and clock me out when the 'net goes down.23:20
haargi don't remember if logins got that protections added to them23:20
@scrottieor when I close the laptop after forgetting to clock out.23:20
@scrottiewould be silly if they didn't...23:21
haargcould be done automatically for all post requests, but that would probably break some things as well23:21
@scrottieI haven't looked at the reportin/admin side of the IOB.  will I mess up stats if I update my iob status frequently with a "what I'm working on" type thing?23:21
@scrottieWG8 seems like a good time to break that.23:22
haargi didn't think it even kept any stats23:22
@scrottieI was only guessing that it did.23:22
haargcould also use the csrf protection plack middleware23:22
haargalthough it relies on html parsing23:22
SquOnkAnyone up for cake?23:23
SquOnk:)23:23
@scrottiemunching on coffee cake already but thanks!23:23
@scrottieI suppose if people get annoyed at me updating the iob frequently, they can yell at me.23:23

@scrottieSquOnk, re: 12176, I'd have to do some digging into there.  I haven't ever mucked about with shortcuts and the idea of expiring this cache from the target asset sounds scary/ugly, and perlDreamer sounds like he has a lead on how to do it.  you can remind me later if you like but right now, I'm hoping perlDreamer fixes it ;)23:25

@scrottiethe asset has to support subscriptions, but there's a chunk of code in /data/WebGUI/lib/WebGUI/AssetAspect that various assets pull in to accomplish this.08:48

@preactionscrottie: which one? the Asset one? the ones I did were the AssetHelpers, which are done22:38
@preactionthe additional RPC stuff is left as a TODO in WebGUI::Admin/updateAsset22:39
@preactionright now it only does Rank, which is all I needed for the Tree view22:40
@scrottieah, didn't know there was a plan for anything beyond Asset itself22:41
@preactionAssetHelpers are the main bit, there are some eccentricities22:41
@preactionthough FormBuilder still needs to be refactored, the FormBuilder::Role classes combined into WebGUI::FormBuilder::Base to fix the stupidity I made22:42
@scrottiethat would make sense for supporting the admin interface but access to asset properties and lineage has the broad applicability I want to see.22:43
@scrottieI'll check out the TODO22:43

xootomif i create a new instance of a calendar for each user i guess they need to be in a unique group to give that group (themselves) editing rights so they can manage events on their calendar19:18

@scrottiexootom, sometimes things will get thrown into a container just for the sake of somewhere to put them, and to keep them together.  that container doesn't have to be viewable by anyone.  it doesn't have to be a PageLayout.  it can be a Folder.20:24
@scrottiebut yeah, it really does have to have a parent.20:25
xootomI've been thinking some more about this, i could create a unique calendar for each user when they register, but this'd lose the ability of showing group events20:28
xootombut if I give normal users the ability to only see their own events on a shared calendar I guess they'd lose this anyway20:29
xootomperhaps using 1 calendar, if regular users could only create private events but see any other events they have permission to see20:35

+perlDreamerxootom, you can use iCal to subscribe calendar to one another20:38
+perlDreamerand they all obey WebGUI permission on a per-calendar and per-event level20:38
xootomif there were say a few thousand users, all members of one of a few hundred groups, would that create an overhead, is the ical thing more like a cron job?20:43
xootomlike fetching an rss feed20:44
xootomor is it on demand20:44
+perlDreamerthe ical updater runs as a workflow periodically, as a WebGUI Scheduler task20:45
+perlDreamerso, like a cron job20:45
xootomi wonder if it'd be possible to set up the relationships between calendars automatically, i.e. if you join a group that owns a calendar, your calendar subscribes to its calendar20:47
xootomdoes the event managment system generate an ical feed, would be a good way of linking the two21:02

SquOnkI have a use case for the Asset Report where I'd like to filter on a given Asset's *parent*.17:36
SquOnkI'm trying to figure out how to include parentId as an option in the WHERE clause.17:37
SquOnkWhere should I look?17:37
ckotilcan you use a macro in the query?17:39
SquOnkckotil: I mean the Asset Report's query builder.17:39
SquOnkckotil: You get to pick 'What to look for?' (WebGUI::Asset or specialized things)17:40
SquOnkckotil: And you get to set conditions on the result (creationDate, modifiedBy, etc.)17:40
SquOnkckotil: I'd like to have parentId on that list.17:40
SquOnkckotil: I want to use Asset Report to collect Shortcuts present on a given page.17:40

haargsnippets have a setting in them to process them as a template.  you can then use some of the general session variables.22:22
haargi don't remember where that list of variables is though.  in the help somewhere.22:23
vanjwilsonin the snippet article in the wiki, it says you can choose to "Process as template", but my version has "Use packed?" in that spot... What is Use packed?22:28
haargit packs the html so it is a smaller download22:29
haargunrelated22:29
haargif that option isn't there, your ui level may not be high enough22:29
haargactually i don't think that option is effected by ui level22:31

SquOnk2011/08/08 19:50:59 - FATAL - webgui.conf - WebGUI::SQL::ResultSet::execute[137] - Couldn't execute prepared statement: insert into passiveProfileAOI (userId, fieldId, value)22:52
SquOnkvalues ('KFrVBb3QGyoEPILgXJ63fA','XC1wdid9e3phZKJU76f5dg','http://nuevo.globovision.com/inicio/nacionales/noticias/2011/06/23/difieren-imputaci3n-de-pat3logo-del-cicpc-por-muerte-de-tres-detenidos') : With place holders: .  Root cause: Duplicate entry 'KFrVBb3QGyoEPILgXJ63fA-XC1wdid9e3phZKJU76f5dg-http://nuevo.globo' for key 'PRIMARY'22:52
SquOnkThere it is (sorry for the big paste)22:52
haargok that makes more sense22:53
SquOnkhaarg: Correct me if I'm wrong (I haven't look at the code yet). The insert takes a fieldId (metadata?) and it's value for the current Asset, and tries to save it, right?22:54
haargsomething along those lines22:55
haargthere is the potential for a race condition in that code but other than that i don't see what would cause the issue22:56
haargis this something you are seeing frequently?22:56
SquOnkhaarg: Oh yes.22:57
haarghmm22:57
SquOnkhaarg: And it kills the Apache server, so users end up whit a dreaded "white page"22:57
haargyeah database call failures are handled in a pretty shitty way in 722:58
SquOnkOh my $deity, I just saw the race...23:00
haargcan you look in the database and give me the results from SHOW CREATE TABLE passiveProfileAOI23:00
SquOnkSure23:01
haargyeah there are race conditions along those lines in a bunch of places unfortunately.  i don't think that's what is going on in this case though.23:01
SquOnkCREATE TABLE `passiveProfileAOI` (23:03
SquOnk  `userId` char(22) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin NOT NULL,23:03
SquOnk  `fieldId` char(22) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_bin NOT NULL,23:03
SquOnk  `value` char(100) NOT NULL,23:03
SquOnk  `count` int(11) DEFAULT NULL,23:03
SquOnk  PRIMARY KEY (`userId`,`fieldId`,`value`)23:03
SquOnk) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf823:03
haargwould be better to use a pastebin for stuff like that :)23:03
haargpreaction isn't around to slap you for it23:03
SquOnkYep23:04
SquOnkhttp://pastebin.com/AB3Mk4GH23:04
SquOnkhaarg: You know, I can only see that happening with a race.23:07
haargi'm thinking it's the index length23:08
SquOnkhaarg: And it is somewhat possible because I have the same user with many simultaneous logins looking at the same stuff.23:08
haargthe length of the index doesn't cover the entire length of that value field23:08
SquOnkhaarg: Do you mean the index should have more/less fields?23:09
haargwell the design expects those three fields to make a unique index23:10
haargthe max index length is 25523:10
SquOnkhaarg: What?23:11
haargbut utf8 fields all take 3 bytes per character to store in mysql for some reason23:11
haargso with utf8 fields you are limited to 85 characters in your index23:12
haarg-44 from the ids and it is only matching on part of that url23:13
haargat least, that's how i remember it working last time i looked into this23:13
SquOnkhaarg: Well, you might have a point (very sad reality for MySQL though).23:15
SquOnkhaarg: I'm checking MySQL docs to confirm.23:17
SquOnkWell, MySQL will never cease to depress me...23:21
haargyeah :/23:21

haarghmm23:22
SquOnkIt's beyond crap23:22
haargi'm looking around for references to this23:22
haargand not seeing the same numbers i was thinking23:22
SquOnkI just read 'The maximum key length is 1000 bytes.23:23
haargyeah that's what i saw too23:23
-!- dappere-dodo [~dappere-d@ip4da72a6b.direct-adsl.nl] has quit [Client Quit]23:24
haargso those three fields together should be ok23:24
haargi don't know.  might make sense to fix the race condition and see if it fixes anything.23:24
SquOnkI'm using 5.1 as per Debian Squeeze, because 5.0 had stronger limitations.23:25
SquOnkhaarg: Agreed.23:25
SquOnkThe error message truncates the key at 64 bytes.23:28
SquOnkI mean, the truncated string shows up to the 64th character.23:28
SquOnkThat comes out of $self->errorMessage which in turn corresponds to DBD's errstr.23:29
haarghttp://gist.github.com/113266023:30
haargthat's untested but looks mostly right23:31
haargthere's probably a better way to do it but i don't feel like figuring out mysql's particular syntax for insert or replace23:31
SquOnkomg23:34
SquOnkI should file a bug about that, unless you already did.23:34
SquOnkBut still, the INSERT will still be the same length.23:34
haargnow that i've looked at it more i'm thinking it wouldn't be the index thing though.  1000 bytes is plenty of room for those three fields even with the 3 byte expansion due to utf8.23:36
SquOnkhaarg: It is, assuming the 1000 is really the limit. Seems to be a compile time flag according to documentation.23:37
haargbut it should error out if you try to create an index that is too long23:37
haargso i'm pretty sure that isn't the problem in this case23:37
SquOnkhaarg: I'm checking Debian's mysql-server source package to make sure it's 100023:38
SquOnkhaarg: Did you push the change you pasted?23:39
haargno23:39
haargand it looks like it screwed something up with it anyway23:40
SquOnkHeh :)23:40

@scrottie http://www.webgui.org/use/bugs/tracker/12198 ... would anyone argue against my dropping support WebGUI letting people log in using HTTP Auth?  I've only ever heard of this getting in the way.03:25
@scrottieanother option would be to make failures silent, including not trying to prompt for HTTP Basic auth again.  then whatever code is trying to use HTTP Auth to log the user in would have to do the work of setting the status to HTTP Auth Failure.03:27

FNodHi,20:28
FNodI've a small problem with wG URLs :20:29
FNodI created a folder which URL was "fr"20:29
FNodthen changed it to "r/fr"20:29
FNodhowever, if I type "example.com/fr" I still access that folder20:30
FNod(example.com/r/fr is working too)20:30
FNodthus I can't create a Page Layout with the URL "fr", it is renamed "fr2"20:31
FNodHow can I fix this ?20:31
FNodSorry for the noise, I've solved the problem.20:35
ckotilyeah, Wg keeps the URL names around for 1 year by default, i think. the one way  i know how to get around it is to delete your asset. purge it from trash, then try again. tho there is probably a more elegant way to do it20:35
FNodI used the "Change URL" option to rename from "r/fr" to "r/fr" :)20:36
FNodnot elegant neither, but faster20:37

vanjwilsonWhat's the best way to perserve a session variable in a webgui--I'm working on a small "dashboard" style app, and want to save the user's choices when they come back to dashboard from report page. session scratch variables may work, but do you have to use a query string (or is there some macro like PHP's $_SESSION array) ?20:56
-!- dappere-dodo [~dappere-d@ip4da72a6b.direct-adsl.nl] has joined #webgui21:08
@scrottieyou have a few options...21:09
@scrottiethere's scratch, and there's userProfileData21:09
@scrottieperldoc WebGUI::Session::Scratch (or  perldoc /data/WebGUI/lib/WebGUI/Session/Scratch.pm), WebGUI::ProfileField21:10
@scrottiethere's a UI for maintaining profile data in the admin console21:10
+perlDreamerwhy not just use the existing dashboard asset?21:10
vanjwilson@scrottie I only want to remember the preferences for the current session and to change them based on form clicks--would userProfileData be ok to store "short-term" data like that?21:15
+perlDreameruserProfileData would last longer than the current session21:15
@scrottieuserProfileData is long term.  please read those two perldocs and let me know if you have any questions.21:15

vanjwilsonokay, thanks @scrottie and @perldreamer (I'll check out the dashboard asset too)21:20
@scrottiesure thing21:23
+perlDreamernote to self: mid-project core upgrades are a bad idea21:44
@scrottiemid-project is the only time anything happens.21:45
+perlDreamerwe need to delay the core merge until after the update21:47
+perlDreamersince doing a merge in the development branch of the project makes it nigh on impossible to merge into WebGUI's master branch21:48
@scrottiewhat core is being upgraded?  sorry?21:48
+perlDreamerLet's invent a situation21:49
+perlDreamerA customer is using 7.9.early and wants some changes to core assets made21:49
+perlDreamerwe make a fork of 7.9.early and a dev starts making changes21:49
+perlDreamerthen, in mid-stream, we have update the custom branch to 7.9.recent21:50
+perlDreamerso there's a commit in the custom branch which includes the upgrade21:50
+perlDreamerdoing any kind of merge back into core makes git go boom21:50
@scrottiegotcha.21:50
+perlDreamerso, back to extracting patches21:51

TrexMorning, folks. (for those in the western hemisphere)18:07
TrexI was wondering if someone could help me figure out the proper use of the synopsis marker (^-;), which doesn't seem to be fully documented.18:08
TrexI get that if you insert it into a CS post, WebGUI will create the synopsis with the text up to that point. That seems to be working for me...18:08
TrexBut I would presume that WG would also HIDE that marker when displaying the full post...but that doesn't seem to be happening for me. I'm getting the marker showing up when you view the post description itself.18:09
TrexI don't know enough about how it SHOULD be behaving to say whether I should be using it differently or if I have a bug report to fill out. (WG version 7.9.32)18:11

+BartJollike localhost (if you have a postfix for instance)18:43
+BartJolor an smtpserver from your isp18:43

+danny_mkGood day everyone.  Has anyone configured a WebGUI site to run https only?21:06
+danny_mkhttp://pastebin.com/s5YadKid21:07
-!- fokat [~lem@weston-69.65.87.205.myacc.net] has joined #webgui21:07
+danny_mkI have it configured and running that was however I am getting some spectre and workflow errors21:07
@preactionspectre should probably point to the mod_perl instance using http. mod_proxy should be the only https handler21:10
+danny_mkI am running a stand alone system, can't really configure wre on the server, the sysadmin is kind of possessive about software installation21:11
@preactionokay, just ask for another instance of apache running for performance reasons21:13
+danny_mknot sure how to configure two but OK21:14
@preactionotherwise, keep an internal 127.0.0.1 virtualhost for spectre to use. otherwise use a rewriterule to prevent connections from spectre being moved to https21:14
@preactionto configure two it's just another httpd.conf file21:15
+danny_mkI will try the 127.0.0.1 internal host first21:15
+danny_mkthat sounds like an interim good solution21:15
+danny_mkwhere does spectre get the url to run its workfloses spectre.conf or mysite.conf?21:17
+danny_mkworkflows21:17
@preactionit uses the first sitename in mysite.conf21:18
+danny_mkOK, thanks21:18
@preactionso you'd need a series of 127.0.0.1:80 virtual hosts, one for each site, just for spectre21:18
+danny_mkyup, doing that now21:19
@preactionprobably also make sure that you deny from all, allow from 127. or something21:20
@preactionjust to be on the safe side, belt-and-suspenders kind of thing21:20
+danny_mkyup21:20
+danny_mkthe "Send queued message" workflow is showing some errors in the log referencing  WebGUI::Asset::Wobject::WSClient  that module is not available on my system.21:32
+danny_mkI am wondering if I have an incomplete build.21:33

@preactionno, WSClient hasn't been part of Webgui for a while, but you may have not had it removed from your config file21:45

+danny_mkpreaction: since there is no real "recoverPassword" method in WebGUI::Auth::OpenId what would be the best way to make sure that a subject asking for password recovery gets redirected to the WebGUI::Auth::Webgui module?22:55
@preactiondanny_mk, in recent versions of webgui, specify the authType=WebGUI23:16
+danny_mkpreaction:  yes, that means that during password recovery I have to change the template to have authType=WebGUI23:34
+danny_mkwhen I create the account it gets created with authType=OpenId23:35
@preactionauthType=WebGUI in the URL i mean, ?op=auth;authType=WebGUI;method=recoverPassword. as time goes on, the user's authtype won't matter anymore23:35
@preactionreally, the user should be created with authType WebGUI and OpenID used as the alternate login scheme using ?op=auth;authType=OpenID23:36
+danny_mkOK, thank you.23:36
+danny_mkright, unfortunately the current implementation created the users with an authType of OpenId, I have to change them in the database manually.23:41
+danny_mkI also have to make that change in the OpenId module.23:42

sbaurHi everyone02:05
sbaurI need some help trying to track down something odd02:05
sbaurI have a dataform on a dev site that shows me the "page you have requested does not exist page" when i try to view it (admin on)02:06
sbaurhowever it does not through any errors about an asset being requested that does not exist in my asset tree02:06
sbaurin webgui.log02:06
sbaurand the url for that asset is in assetData, and it has a parent in asset, but the parent also gives the does not exist error02:07
sbaurneither page appears to be in the system trash or system clipboard02:07
haargstate and status?02:07
sbaurpublished and...02:08
sbaurpending02:09
sbaurbut i don't have any outstanding versiontags02:09
sbaurnor does it show that there are any pending ones02:09
sbaurthis is 7.6.35 in case that makes a difference02:09
haargi'd start by checking on the version tag for that revision.  might want to force commit it through the database.  not that that is very helpful finding out what went wrong.02:10
sbaurso the tagId in assetData should be the same as the tagId in assetVersionTag?02:12
sbaurit's saying isCommitted=1, but it's by the wrong user02:13
sbaurassetHistory has a regular "created revision, locked, edited" set of rows for it02:15
sbaurgonna try rebuilding the lineage...02:18
sbaurit found an orphan, but not the asset I was looking for, though it did change the lineage for that asset02:21
sbaurmore info, the template it's trying to use, doesn't seem to exist...02:28
sbaurI need to leave for the day. guess I'll keep digging into this tomorrow. 02:29

sbaurSo I'm still trying to fix my "missing" dataform problem from yesterday (WG 7.6.35)19:36
sbaurit looks like all the bits that are missing are associated with a version tag and have a status of pending19:36
sbaurbut when I look at the assetVersionTag table, the tag is committed19:36
sbaurif i manually change the pendings to published, what kind of problems might that cause?19:37
sbaurLuckily this is on a dev version of my site19:37
sbauror should i change the assetVersionTag table and set it to not committed and then go through the commit process again?19:38
sbauris one "safer" than the other?19:38
sbaurs/published/approved/19:44
haargmight be safer to set the version tag to not committed, then try committing it20:23
haargalso would have the advantage of possibly reproducing the issue that occurred20:24
sbauri wound up copying the bits that had problems from the committed tag to a new tag and then committing it. that seems to have done it20:33
sbaurit committed the second time without incident20:33
sbaurI'm almost wondering if I got hit with a GUID collision for the version tag ID20:33

SquOnkIf I wanted Articles to have some default templates, I would have to use a Prototype, right? Is there another way?20:15
+perlDreamerSquOnk, if you don't want duplicates in your head tags, then use template attachments for JS and CSS20:20
+perlDreamerthat's what it's for20:20
SquOnkperlDreamer: I see. I was trying to figure out where would be the right place to attempt duplicate detection for head.tags20:21

@scrottieIceland is crawling with backpackers and there are campgrounds, inexpensive casual breakfest joints and all sorts of stuff catering to them.  it's a really easy, friendly place to go bumming around for a while.  everywhere I went in Europe, people were awesome, though.18:49

@daviddelikat1question:23:22
SquOnkanswer:23:22
@daviddelikat1if you 23:23
@daviddelikat1HAVE to have a memorable secure password23:23
@daviddelikat1how do you select it?23:23
SquOnkMemorable secure...23:23
SquOnk...as in really hard to guess, but really easy for you to remember?23:23
@daviddelikat1exactly23:23
SquOnkAnd also, statistically sound (as in good entropy)?23:23
@daviddelikat1yes23:24
SquOnkdaviddelikat1: Well, there are two schools of tought regarding that.23:24
SquOnkdaviddelikat1: First idea.23:24
SquOnkTake this password23:24
SquOnkGabpqeyl!23:24
SquOnkLooks absolutely random, right?23:24
@daviddelikat1yes23:25
SquOnkHowever, it stands for 'Gloria al bravo pueblo que el yugo lanzó!'23:25
SquOnk...first verse of the venezuelan national anthem.23:25
SquOnkQuite hard for me to forget :)23:25
@daviddelikat1and that means something to you, rhgit?23:25
SquOnkSo take any song, poem, or phrase you're fond of and use it.23:26
@daviddelikat1and you don't expect too many venezuelans to try it23:26
SquOnkAdd a bang or do the usual l33t translations and you're onto something.23:26
SquOnkNot really, no :) I use that as an example of good password creation to my fellow venezuelan citizens so they "click"23:26
SquOnkThey end up using their favorite song or phrase.23:27
SquOnkIfyl0fd!23:27
@daviddelikat1I've heard of that system23:27
SquOnk"I find your lack of faith disturbing!"23:27
SquOnk(note zero replacing oh)23:27
SquOnkSo, that's one idea.23:28
@daviddelikat1my problem is that I don't have any one song or such that I'm that fond of23:28
SquOnkThe other idea is to use four dictionary words that are usually unrelated but create a "picture" in your mind that you can recall easily23:28
SquOnknaked women playing banjo23:29
SquOnkThere, you won't be able to forget that ever.23:29
SquOnkStatistically, there's more entropy in the second method, although it seems that a brute force attack would be easier. It's not :)23:29
SquOnkIf you go the extra mile and capitalize, dash the words together or l33t them, it's even better.23:30
@daviddelikat1thanks23:31
@daviddelikat1I'll have to spend some time picking new passwords now.23:31
@daviddelikat1I've been using my current set foe way too long23:31
@daviddelikat1I gotta head out23:32

vanjwilsonstrange, I'm been developing a small web app with webgui on a development server and every 2 weeks, I've been backing up the database and the uploads folder and pushing them to a production server, worked fine last 2 times, but today, all my pages except the home page come up as missing URLs (and I can see the changes on the home page). Anybody have any ideas?22:12
@scrottiehow are you backing up the database?22:14
@scrottieare you doing a mysqldump?22:14
vanjwilsonI am using wgd to backup the db on the dev server, and wgd on the staging server to delete the old db and restore the new one22:25
vanjwilson(wgd worked the last 2 times)22:26
@scrottiealright, that should work.  that uses mysqldump under the hood.22:33
